To Whom it May Concern:
We intend to enroll our son/daughter, _____________, in the ____________ School this coming Fall 200_. One of the requirements for admission is for each student to have received a series of immunizations against certain diseases. Because of our sincere religious beliefs, we have refrained from vaccinating our son/daughter. Let us explain what we believe.
Our faith is the sum total of our lives. We believe that the loving Creator God made all that exists, humans included, and expects that we will live in accordance with the order of creation and nature. We believe that God's Spirit enables and empowers us to understand God's will over our lives. We make no decisions and take no actions in any sphere of our lives without acknowledging God's sovereignty and seeking God's desire for us.
Our lifestyle is based on the belief that God gave us bodies that are temples of the Holy Spirit. It is our responsibility to live in such a way that our bodies remain whole and healthy. If we care for them appropriately, God-given natural capabilities will protect us from illness and disease. We believe it is an affront to God and an abdication of our personal responsibilities to rely on foreign means and substances to protect us.
Our faith leads us as parents to take physical, spiritual, and mental responsibility and make decisions for the health and well being of our children. In light of our faith lifestyle, we choose not to have them vaccinated.
We fully realize and accept the responsibilities that are ours as parents. We respectfully request that you honor our religious beliefs and grant our son/daughter an exemption from the immunization requirements.
